I recently had one of my SD corrupted by one of those autoprint machines in a chemist now every time I put it in my camera the camera fails to recognise there is a Card in there.

My computer offers to format it.

Is there a piece of software I can use to try and recover some images from my card? I'd backed up most of my images to Flickr but there are a few that I'd taken that day that I'd like to get out.

There are a few free pieces of software mentioned here: http://blogs.zdnet.com/digitalcameras/?p=1102

After you have recovered what you can, format it before you continue using it again.

First of all, take a full backup of the card using a tool like DD for Windows. This will save you if you accidently format or arse-up the card while trying to fix it, if you do you have a direct image you can write back to it and start again.

As said above by aaronls, a few SD recovery tools do exist already but by the sounds of it the machine has hosed the actual filesystem on the card. Your milage may vary.
