I am a new photographer and I need a personal gallery for my photo but there is a lot of sites that give you this service and I don't know which I choose? Flickr], Picasa, DeviantArt? or if you have a another choice that you see it best?

I use and prefer Flickr. The community is full of quality photographers. Also, the wide variety of groups that cater specific niches of photography (revolving cameras, colours, objects or techniques) are always sources of interesting ideas and users. Everything I've seen on DeviantART tends to focus either on drawings, icons, desktop themes, (which the platform suits them well) or emo scene-like pictures. They never got to a clear interface for those users which do not do heavy editing on pictures. |

If you are serious about storing all your photos I'd go for Flickr and get a pro account, it's really good and it's really cheap. Just be wary that when you cease to be a Pro account holder you will lose access to some of your older photos. |

For me, a Picasa/Flickr combo works great! I use Picasa to share photos with friends because gives you more control on what you share and who you share it with. To share photos with the community, I use Flickr with a Pro account, it's worth the price but I had a hard time trying to decide between them and Smugmug, which has very good user comments. Maybe the latter is more focused on professionals but anyway, I think Flickr is stronger for the community around and a great search and explore engine. |

Depends on what you want/need. If you want to showcase your work to the wider photographic community, or offer up photos under creative commons, then Flickr is the service. Be warned that to really get the full use of Flickr you'll need a pro account. If you wish to have somewhere to store your photos, keep them private and share them out to a few people, Picasa will serve you will with the bonus of being free. If you wish to do pure, creative and artistic work, then DeviantArt is better. Deviant is more of a general artist community. I'm not sure if DA charges or not now, I've not used my account for many many years. |

If you're serious about photography, prepared to pay a very reasonable annual fee, and want to have the option to sell your photos, take a look at Smugmug.com. The great things is that storage space and bandwidth are unlimited, photos are kept in their originally uploaded sizes (displayable in a range of sizes) and, depending on which of the three packages you choose, videos of up to 10 minutes can be hosted up to HD quality. The site has lots of other options - go take a look at http://www.smugmug.com |

I use Porta for my portfolio site, an easy to use album generator. You can customize it and add captions. |

I am using FlickrPro and Zenfolio. My Flickr account is about to expire and I am not sure if I am going to renew it or not. |

One of the cool things about Flickr is all the stuff you can do with metadata - geotagging, searching by cameras, day taken, tag, etc. It's a wealth of information and photos. Plus the design's not too obnoxious, which is generally a plus. |

I like Picasa and Flickr for general use. They have alot of functionality and is also free. You can showcase them through galleries and share photos with friends. But for amateur and pro photographers who have lots of photos, looking to sell their photos and worried about copyrights. Smugmug and Zenfolio are great sites. They do cost a fee but they are reasonably priced and much more functionality than picasa and flickr . Unlimited storage, customization, watermarking, and shopping carts to name a few. I've used smugmug, but then switched to zenfolio. I like their organization and back-end printing a lot better, plus they are cheaper. |

I like Picasa and BlueMelon - both give you 1 GB of storage for free and that is enough for me - if you need more you can extend both of the services ... and with Picasa you can use your google account (I use Picasa for video and BlueMelon for photos) Try them and see for yourself, you will like them |
